"Ueno is a vibrant interesting area. Lots of good food. Very near Narita Skyliner train station, which makes it an easy place to stay. This hostel is clean and simple. Suits solo traveller for good price in Tokyo. Very safe, but also lockers for valuables and plenty of luggage storage. Bed (capsule-type thing with curtain door) was roomy enough for what it is. I’m 6ft2 and it was fine."

"Not to be confused with Centurion Hotel & Spa Ueno Station located in the Ameyoko shopping district, Centurion Hotel Ueno is just 1-2 blocks south of beautiful Ueno Park, so it’s a convenient spot for exploring the area. "Overall, not a bad experience. A good deal for how affordable it was. It’s dated, but clean. There is a smoky smell, as others have mentioned, but not terrible, unless you’re particularly sensitive. I had to leave early due to a storm, so didn’t actually sleep here, but accommodations looked fine. Pretty spacious for a typical capsule style. It was definitely warm, though. "
