"The common areas look very run down. The room was surprisingly okay looking with some flaws, weird bumps under the carpet, the door had to pulled open and shut and odd configuration. The bed was the worst! So uncomfortable, lumpy and high. The breakfast was standard fare and the staff kept it full, clean and pleasant. I stayed 2 nights for a local event and left early so I could get home and get some sleep. I guess this is what you get in the U.S. for $125 a night. "

"My husband & I had a great spur of the moment stay at the Hampton Inn Duluth Canal Park. Awesome location on Lake Superior our room overlooked the lake & boardwalk! The hotel is dog friendly, so we had some wonderful walks along the lake in the morning. The continental breakfast was very good including yummy bakery rolls. The day after returning home we realized we had left our Belkin phone charger in the room (about 100 dollar value) I called to see if they had found it & if we paid shipping...

"The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel had had a shuttle service to the ski hill which was very convenient! We enjoyed the restaurants recommended by them and even used Ella’s pantry which was nice. We would definitely stay here again and would maybe try out the spa! "

Comfortable & spacious, great location

"Wasn't sure what to expect based on others' reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. We received a ground floor room with a window, super high ceilings and a kitchenette, making the room seem huge. The two double beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was small and could use updating, but was sufficient. Water in shower should be hotter. Breakfast was decent, better than some. Lots of seating available. My daughters used the pool, which was very busy & noisy. They said the hot tub was lukewarm and got hit by a flying ball while in it. Location is great even in mid January. We attended a figure skating competition at Amsoil & DECC and were able to walk there and back. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby and close to everything."
