Leeds Town Hall is a striking Classical-Baroque-style building in the heart of the city. You’re sure to pass by Leeds Town Hall during your walking tour of the city’s historic center. Check out the hall’s breathtaking Victorian architecture, which dates back to 1858. Designed by Hull architect Cuthbert Broderick, Leeds Town Hall features an ornate Baroque clock tower and tall colonnade. An elaborate carved-stone palisade skirts the building’s roof and regal stone lions look out from the hall’s façade. Appreciate the hall’s architectural grandeur from the street before climbing the stone steps and entering the building.
The Leeds Town Hall hosts a broad program of events. You might see an orchestra, opera performances and organ recitals. Art exhibitions and special lectures are also regularly held here. If nothing appeals to you, however, you can still explore the hall with a guided tour. Uncover the hall’s fascinating history and discover the former Courtroom, stand at the prisoner’s docks and check out the old prisoner’s cells. You can also climb the 203 steps up the central clock tower and see the heritage clock, as well as magnificent views across Leeds’ historic downtown. Tours are available with prior booking on Mondays and Saturdays for a small fee.

Leeds Town Hall is located in central Leeds. It is fronted by Victoria Square. You can reach the hall within a 10-minute walk from Leeds Railway Station. Ticketing prices differ between events.
