As no car is allowed to drive to the castle, the hotel offers a free shuttle to pick/drop you to the parking lot where you get in/off the taxi. The hotel has a lot of history but the condition itself needs some maintenance. The view from the hotel is unbeatable and the staff are super friendly. Overall is a very nice stay. "We had an excellent 1 night stay at Sowell Le Chevaliers. The staff was very patient during our check in. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Carcassonne. The room was clean and nicely appointed with a walkout spacious terrace. We wish we could have stayed another night. The view we had of the walled city and overlooking the river (with bird activity) was a treat."

Very nice.

"It's just a motel room really. Comfortable bed, pillow a little firm for me. Free air-conditioning and WiFi. Very clean and the lady on reception is lovely. There is some traffic noise but not too bad. It's situated on a industrial estate about 5km from Carcassonne. I walked it and the French don't seem to believe in pavements, don't do as I did and take the longer scenic route back because you'll have to walk in the road. I'd definitely stay here again."
