There are people down the road hanging out on the street that seem like drug users, but the immediate area around the hotel seemed fine."

"It is a low cost motel, considering that, it is fine. Note: there is no elevator so if you can't do stairs, ask for a ground floor room. Plusses: laminate floors, clean, bed was comfortable, convenient location, nice that it was small and I didn't have to tote luggage very far. I didn't like: they have a button for flushing the toiled, it is hard to push, the doors all have very strong self closing hinges, at first I though everyone slammed their doors, then I realized it can't be helped.
