I love Asilomar. Perfect location. Beautiful architecture. Magical grounds. Easy walk to the beach. Breakfast is fantastic too. But there was a mix-up with our room, and although we were upgraded, the front desk staff wasn't very friendly or understanding. Also, the blinds in our bedroom were missing their rod so we couldn't shut them all the way to block out light for sleeping.

There was no fridge no tv and construction outside window. Had to search for ocean view. Bed was cheap and hard to sleep. Room didnt match picture. No coffee maker either. We left a day early

Lovely spot close to nature and beach, but still convenient to shops and restaurants. Breakfast was included and was good enough, if slightly “cafeteria-ish”. Would definitely stay again for proximity to beautiful beaches and sand dunes.

They told me the pool was open. They told me the pool was heated. I wouldn't have rented if they had told me the truth: the pool is freezing, filled with broken branches and leaves, nobody has been swimming there for a long, long time. When I mentioned this at the front desk, they said "Who gave you that information?" as if they were ready to fire that person. "We're sorry", they said, but they weren't sorry enough to let me check out at 1:30 instead of 11.

Ants in room. No phone in room to call someone. Could not get ice delivered because they don’t have a Bellman. Having worked in hospitality for 10 years. When a customer asked for us to be delivered, you delivered it. There were three people when I checked in at the front desk. One of those persons could’ve delivered ice to me because I had a bad knee. Also, I wanted to pay with cash and I was told they don’t accept cash. I would never recommend this place. My room was outdated. The shower needs to be redone. The blinds need to be redone. No shower mat in the shower. I had to use a hand towel so that my feet would not touch the floor. They need a lot of work as far as customer service goes. A professional should assist with having the front desk, clerks, not shout out your room number. That’s a blatant security risk to the people checking in to the Conference Center.

Asilomar is in a wonderful location and charges a very reasonable amount to stay there. The staff seems friendly and very efficient. The bed and lighting and carpet were all terrific. But the sinks in our bathroom did not operate properly at all and are in desperate need of replacement — pretty surprising really, The slower operated ok but the tub itself is really old with stains and needs to be replaced. I know it’s all about the money but they desperately need to upgrade their facility maintenance.
