「This was a good spot to explore the area from. Only a short drive to a few spots nearby and the onsite restaurant was good. Nice carvery. The staff were excellent. Our only issues were a toilet that didn't flush properly and a shower that had a wonky temperature regulator. They called the plumber for us but we were only there for one night so it couldn't be fixed until the next day. Good value for the money.」

Location good although we didn’t have the chance to explore as we were meeting friends for a Christmas lunch the next day. Room was nice and warm and the bed comfortable. The room was in need of an update but it didn’t worry us 」

「A little remote, but in a nice environment. Nice and cosy, and run by a old couple. The only drawback for an overall top marks is because of the shower, although it is newly installed, it is difficult to operate and the water pressure is somewhat too low to have a nice shower. The worst part is the wall inside the shower cubicle is dirty but consider the old couple are working hard to run the hotel and also the nice letters restaurants, so it is not a complaint, just would like to point it...

「We had a great stay at this historic hotel. Check in/check out was smooth. Great breakfast selection with hearty portion. Room is clean and bed is just the right firmness that you can wake up rejuvenated without backache. We also like how they stock plenty of welcome drinks and snacks in room to give us coziness to wind down in the cool weather.」
