"The place is remarkable and excellent. We have a room with private onsen and the room can view the ocean from window. It includes one dinner and one breakfast and the food is awesome and fresh. We will recommend this place."

"Spend a night here, not very modern but still very clean. Great view Traditional Japanese style ,breakfast and dinner included with the price, dinner is pure Japanese experience. No bathroom only toilet if you like onsen. Taxi cost 1700¥ from Atami station or local bus stop in front of hotel. Open Onsen offer great view, not big little quiet . "

"Oni no sumika is a beautiful ryokan tucked away in Shuzenji. The staff are all extremely kind and accommodating (they do not speak English, so google translator is a must if you’re foreign and they are quick to use it) The traditional breakfast was great, with many small dishes that leave you satisfied but not full to start your day. If I am in shuzenji again I will be staying here."

"This is a beautiful Ryokan with a view looking over the water. The staff was very responsive and helpful. We emailed them when we were in the area and on the way to the local station. They shuttle van drove up as we were walking out of the station. Thankful for that as the ryokan was on a windy, narrow road. "A magical experience. From the moment we were picked up from Mishima station by the free hotel shuttle, to the time we left, it was all amazing. "Such a cute little place, clean, simple decor with great vibe. Cramped but indoor bike parking. There was a washing machine, although it was in high demand so I had to wait for it, and it was a bit slow, but it did the trick. The onsen bath was private, which was nice, but there were only 2 of them, so I would imagine there might occasionally be a wait for that too. 5 minute walk from the bay where you could watch the ships and see the fishermen packing that morning’s catch."

"This is one of my favorite hotel/Ryokans on Earth. The food is spectacular, the service is beyond exceptional (everyone was so nice, very refreshing after staying in Tokyo), and the onsen baths are divine. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. I WILL BE BACK!!"

"We stayed here for one night and had a wonderful experience! The room was spacious with a fantastic sea view, making it a perfect place to relax. In the evening, we enjoyed playing table tennis, which added to the fun of our stay. The onsen with a sea view was incredibly relaxing—definitely a highlight! We recommend booking a stay that includes dinner and breakfast, as dining options nearby are quite limited, though there is a convenience store within a 5-minute walk."

"As the "hanare" part of "hanareya" suggests, this location is quite far from what you might consider urban Japan, and as such is a good place for some relaxing quiet time. "So the few things I did not like where the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable, the onsen water was hot enough to burn me (the rock onsen at the bottom) and the pool closed SOOOO early that we didn’t get to experience it at all. I paid a lot of money for that hotel and then didn’t even get to experience the pool. But the staff was very accommodating and made great efforts to speak English to us. "

"The facilities were dated, which I knew going in. But I wasn’t prepared for the level of decline: none of the restaurants/bars were open (permanently, it seems), the front desk was hardly staffed, the lobby wasn’t an inviting place to spend time. The room was clean and comfortable, as was the onsen (hot spring bath). But no meals was unexpected & a bit inconvenient. My reservation supposedly included breakfast, but I was told “no food” by the front desk (and I do speak Japanese, confirmed the food situation.) We made do with the nearby convenience store and found a local place for dinner that turned out to be great. For the price, the onsen experience was worth it, but we had to adjust our expectations. "

"Staff is very welcoming; we got a snack upon check-in. We went with the dinner option by the riverside as it was hyped up by youtubers, but we found that the price is not worth the price tag. We paid around $260 for 2 people for dinner. The food could be a lot better to justify the price tag. The room is a bit old. Other than those two points, the environment is nice and room is very clean and comfortable."

"Ochiairo exceeded our expectations! The facility, room, and food were all incredible. We definitely got a true Japanese experience and felt like we had traveled back in time. The staff is incredibly attentive and our room was unbelievably beautiful. Loved the onsen experience, authentic food, and the attention to detail. "
