Explanation being ‘they’re doing something in the kitchen’ but not communicated at any point in the booking process. Also never mentioned gym or pool during check in so maybe that was closed too..."

No call/email warning us of this so we arrived with two tired children and couldn’t then check into our room for three hours whilst I called hotels.com to try and sort it out. Hotel staff were useless and wouldn’t even make eye contact or offer help. Ended up ringing the USA for hours as hotels.com don’t have a UK switchboard. Abysmal service"

"Pretty standard stay for a Holiday Inn. Thought I’d leave a review though as the windows are not well glazed and due to the location can experience a lot of noise from the road below. I wouldn’t return based on this as I do like my quiet for sleep."

"Had a lovely dinner at the Gate restaurant, loved my bedroom and the massive bathroom. Staff was friendly. Didn't like the layout, lots of corridors which did wonders for my steps, spent a lot of time going around in a circle. I also had a great spa treatment. "
