"We stayed at the English Inn for 3 nights while in Charlottesville to meet friends. We were extrememly pleased with the cleanliness of our room and the rest of the facility even though they are doing some remodeling. The shower was very powerful and the hot water came on quickly which we loved! The breakfast area was very large with a wonderful buffet - the best we have had at any hotel! The staff is very helpful and friendly (thanks James & Erica!) and Scott the Manager is on top of all duties...

"My shower had no seat or grab rails to hang on to when washing feet etc. Easy to slip for seniors like me. Also very difficult to turn on shower without getting sprayed with hot or cold water due to sliding glass panel next to shower control locked/immobile. However staff very understanding/helpful and worked to resolve the shower issue, All in all a very pleasant stay. "

"The hotel was lovely, and the room was one of the nicest that we have had anywhere. The only complaints are not with respect to the hotel but rather with the independent service , Expedia, that arranges for the hotels. The administration at Expedia misleads customers into believing that one is arranging for rooms with the hotel directly. If there needs to be a change, then it is not possible, because the arrangements were made actually with Expedia; the payment arrangements go to Expedia and...

"The hotel, located within blocks of the university, was perfect for my visit. The hotel was extremely clean and a friendly welcome at the front desk. Train did wake me but added a quaint touch to my experience. Picked the hotel for its unique feel and funky vibe. Loved it and would go back - within my budget. "Extremely friendly staff and beautiful location. Everything is well appointed. There's a cafe and the little cul-de-sac if you want to go have a meal. A nice lounge area and bar. The pool works beautiful. We just were there at the wrong time of year. Would definitely stay again."
