"The staff are beyond friendly. We enjoyed our fireside riddles and laughed a lot with some of the staff. Our camel ride out to the camp with guide Mohammed was stellar. There was a stop for the sunset and some local berbere men shared their sand board with us so we could play on the dunes. The only thing I'd change about the entire experience is the dinner. I wish it'd been more authentic and less "fancy". I should also warn that the heat does not and has not worked in the camp in some time. We...

"It was Dec so a little too cold in the desert for a comfortable sleep. They enough provided enough quilts but when the bed is cold, it is cold :-) They had warm running water, bathrooms were clean and well equipped. They do not take credit cards so be prepared to carry cash. The owner met us in the city afterwards, we had to stand in line, withdraw money multiple times from the ATM to give him cash. He was very friendly but the process took away time from our schedule. "

We spent 2 nights at the camp and I am so glad that we did, one just would not be enough. Although the food, surroundings, stargazing, camel rides, and four wheeling through the dunes are amazing, the best part of Horaz is the wonderful, warm staff. "Everything was really good. The tends were comfortable and the food was excellent. The only issue I had was that during the night was really cold and there was no heater."

A special thanks to Mr. Hassan, who arranged activities for us and helped us find a supermarket. "What a wonderful magical place! This is the second camp we have stayed at in Merzouga and this one was a much different experience — private, quiet, beautiful and peaceful. The staff was excellent, attentive to every need. Meals were served one on one, and it was some of the best food we’ve had in all of Morocco. All arrangements were made for whatever we wanted to do (camel rides, quads on the dunes). The tent was super cute and comfortable. Hot water and WiFi are hit or miss, but those shouldn’t be the reasons one comes to the Sahara. This should be a place to unplug, learn some Moroccan/Berber culture, and reconnect. 100 percent recommend! "
