The common areas were a delight and the food was very well crafted and served with local ingredients. From the sauna to the hiking trails to the complimentary coffee/tea bar to the live music to the amazing cocktails — nothing disappointed. "

"Stopped for a quick 2 days of skiing at Stratton. Booked the Black Bear Lodge and loved it. Very convenient bus to the slopes, room was clean. There's a hot tub and sauna which were in good condition and the staff was very friendly. "

"Lovely hotel. We stayed here second time and will definitely come back again. We enjoyed the premises which is pet friendly and superb for our cat to stay with us in hotel room. We (with our cat) enjoyed our hotel room which was spacious, clean and had a lovely view of the mountains which was special to see on cold days with snow outside. We stayed three days two nights and appreciated the slightly earlier check-in accommodated to us. It was also nice to have the free coffee in mornings and drink vouchers in evenings with snacks (nice touch). The staff are friendly and warm. In room amenities are superb but just found it odd that we have to request kettle or coffee machine and room doesnt have it. Also would be great if there was microwave in room. The shower was nice but the knobs were slightly tricky to work it. There was no drinking water provided in room which would have been nice if 1-2 bottles. The bed was comfortable and clean. The location of hotel was superb, close to main city center while in quiet area. We liked that we were only few minutes out from many ski destinations- perfect for winter trip. The hotel has nice amenities with beautiful lounge area with fireplace as well as great restaurant. Although we found the food at the restaurant quality had dropped from last year and was very very pricy ($50 per person without drinks plus tips). We like the fact that the staff and hotel is friendly for our cat which we really appreciate and hope to come back again soon! "

"My son and his friends stayed here to ski and snowboard for a few days in the area. The basic accommodations were sufficient for them. They were happy with their stay."
