We had a wonderful room on the 16 th floor with a gorgeous view all over san jose. Beds were super comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. It is right across the street from a pretty little park and very easy walking distance to the major museums we visited. We also walked to the interesting central market, where we bought ourselves flowers for our room . The sidewalks are very uneven in san jose and we never tried walking at night , but had dinner at the hotel. The breakfast that came with the room was a really fabulous buffet that had everything one could want, hot and cold. Dinners at the hotel were generously sized so by the second night we knew how to order better. We didn’t try the pool but it looked inviting if a bit cool. I definitely would stay at this hotel again.

Hotel is very old. Rooms are set to be remodeled next year and boy do they need it. Old carpet, smells of mold. Breakfast was so so, didn’t have enough dishes and fruit was sad. Lobby was nice and staff was friendly. We were supposed to stay 5 nights but checked out after one and went elsewhere. Not a great part of town either.

Pool was unsafe, no steps out just metal ladder not good for seniors with limited arm strength. Also totally unheated in the shade so too cold to stay in (February visit). One ladder was loose as well.

Two days here no hot water and no competition for the inconvenience. No notification of any repairs. After three cold showers I have to say my patience has run out. I will post my bad experience to my 50000 subscribers. This is the first bad review I will sadly be doing…. Just a bad experience over all and I had to endure the cold shoulder not to stink like this hotel apparently intended for me.

La habitación huele mal, no hay extractor de olores en el baño, las ventanas a la calle estaban muy sucias, manchadas con excrementos de pajaro. Las camas si estaban bastente bien, confortables, limpias. Observé etiquetas o placas de activos de inventario dentro de un cuadro decorativo, al igual en cada mueble de manera muy visible, me parecio de mal gusto, espejo, mesas, respaldares de cama.

Absolutely gorgeous property. Incredibly kind and helpful staff (can’t sing enough praises). The room could have been cleaner and had better upkeep. The phone was broken and had an audible and persistent dial tone - I had to unplug it to sleep. Breakfast service was a bit short, I wish they served until at least 10:30 or 11:00 am. The location is prime - a bit of a trek from the airport, but a lively area with lots to do. Overall a great experience.

In front there is a nice small park area with a mini mart slash bakery right next to it. All good restaurants close early for food. Unless you are using Uber Eats it’s hard to find a decent place after 10pm

Decent Place But Has Issues.
No hotel is perfect, but some things need to be correct. Staff was competent and friendly except for the restaurant breakfast staff in the morning (dinner time were good). Most of the time just standing around talking to each other not paying attention to the fact that there are No coffee cups available while they are standing in front of where the coffee cups should be, trays for the buffet without food, No bread (0) available while the person in charge walks right past it and takes no action. I sent laundry to be cleaned and received pieces unironed, some pieces burnt when ironed. After complaints it was done again and done right. One of the three elevators was broken almost every day. Would be fixed in the morning and by afternoon, stopped on the 8th floor again. On the other hand the Reception, Bellboy and Security staff were helpful and nice. Hotel is OK but it is an older property, I believe the "Sleep Inn" about 200 yards away offers nicer rooms, better security enclosure and friendlier more competent staff for breakfast. Would I stay here again ? Yes, but the SLEEP INN would be my First Choice.
