"Spacious room but way too hot upon arrival. Opened windows to cool off & then contended with mosquitoes all night. Very little tp left & no “front desk” to ask. Overall, ok for a chain hotel room."

"We have stayed in this apartment before so we knew what to expect. The small patio is a bonus but this time we brought our own chairs as we don’t find those provided very comfortable. The bed is very comfortable but it is very warm up there~ we were glad of the fan. We found the Wi-Fi to be rather inconsistent ( not sure if it was like this before). There is a supermarket 1 minute walk away which is just perfect."

"Great value, nice apart-hotel with added bonus of swimming pool. Flat walk into town. Very helpful staff - lady even waited so we could follow her car to the supermarket when we had ventured out and got lost on our first attempt. "

"This was a lovely hotel. It is only a 5 minute walk to the train station and also is close to the city center. It was very quiet, and the staff was very pleasant and attentive. The room was excellent. It had a large modern shower and a very comfortable bed. I would definitely stay there again."

A Gem in Rennes - the Balthazar Hotel & Spa

"Our first time in Rennes, and after a bit too much road time, we wanted a nice place to unwind that was also centrally located, for our few days available to explore Rennes. When booking on Hotels.com, the Balthazar appeared to be that place... and we were not disappointed! From the moment we walked thru the door, we could see and feel the elegance / class of the hotel, and of its staff. Beautiful and comfortable lobby, bar, patio... elegant dining room, relaxing spa, and well-appointed, spacious, and comfortable rooms. The hotel is a short cab ride from the train station, and walking distance to center city, restaurants, a truly wonderful park, and the Saturday morning market. "

An escape just outside the city

"This was a last minute switch from a place in town and boy, are we happy we did! We felt so secluded but also within 3 minutes of a giant grocery store and shopping area! The room was very spacious and the balcony overlooking the water was excellent. We took advantage of the kayaking. We ate both dinner and breakfast using our kitchen - sponge, dish soap, towel, and dishwasher tablet provided. "
