"The hotel is nice, but quite old. The room was certainly not worth the 4-star rating. The food was good but not exceptional. The staff were courteous, but, due to several different teams working there, some things were overlooked (for example I was not told that, on a specific evening, there would be no dinner before 8:30pm - to their credit the restaurant staff did make me a sandwich at 7:30pm, as I did not want to wait until 8:30pm to eat). " It’s called HOSTEL Balai not Hotel - BIG difference. It was closed on arrival (14:00) so no 24hr reception. The staff left in the early evening so only guests left in the building! The bar was shut. The room was small and hostel-like It is very rundown. Only stay for a night if you have to. Lack of staff worrying for women travelling alone. "
