The Lakeside Inn is a place for those who appreciate historical places. Beautiful grounds, pretty lake view, friendly staff, serene, walkable to other town shops, restaurants, and quaint coffee shops/bakeries. Full capacity, but not overwhelming - high end, yet reasonable.

Having access to the lake and downtown was the reason we stayed here. Rooms and property were exceptional. We were not as happy about the choices for breakfast in the dining room.

Love Lakeside Inn have been there several times but this time the shower left a lot to be desired. Water trickled so slowly had to take a sponge bath. Hope this is improved next time I’m there!

For the cost this one night stay was not up to par. The room smelled musty and that scent was trying to be masked by other air fleshing smells, not a great combo. The two full sized beds were both lumpy and shorter than normal so that they fit in the room. They might have been adequate in the last century when the hotel was built, and people were generally shorter, but not so good today. The pedestal sink and toilet were too short and I’m not all that tall. The restaurant we ate at in the main lodge was ok but the food was sub par for the price. The view at sun set was great though.

The inn has a great location on the lake and walkable to the town of Mount Dora and all its shops and restaurants. The staff at the front desk were very personable. The food was excellent, large portions and decently priced, but the service was SLOW. The grounds, exterior and common areas are pretty. However, I expected more in my room at this price point. The bed was not comfortable, I felt every spring. The furniture was basic and dinged from hundreds of vacumes. I'm used to seeing a few antiques in my room when I stay at a historic inn. The shower had little pressure and every time someone in the building flushed their toilet or ran their sink, the shower lost all pressure, went scalding hot, then freezing cold. This happened dozens of times during a morning shower. The towels were great.

Lakeside Inn has an old charm from the past. The grounds are very pleasing with views across the lake. Easy walking distance to the centre of Mt Dora for shopping and dining.

Spent three nights at lakeside inn. Our room was located in one of the newer (1920’s) buildings across from the main hotel. I love staying in historic hotels. For charm, the inn did not disappoint. The room was located on the 2nd floor and faced the front and side. Overall the room was adequate however the bathroom really needs to be updated. The only issue we endured was that an attic ventilation fan runs all day and all night. The exhaust fan is located directly above our room and at night was very, very noticeable. The main building across the street offered a bar and dining room. We had a cocktail at the bar one evening and we had breakfast in the restaurant one of the mornings. Both were acceptable. Pleasant and friendly staff always greeted us. We enjoyed the history of the hotel, the city of Mt Dora and explored each and every shop during our 3-night stay.

We stay here every few months. Only downside is that the walls are very thin and you hear everything from the neighbors and the hallway. If you sleep soundly, you’ll be fine. It’s in an amazing location.

There was black mold around all the windows the room smelled of must and mold had to have it sprayed the tub had mold around it and the linercof the tub was coming off took 10 minutes each time to get hot water i think ill pass on staying there next time
