"First time to Monterey and booked this hotel and overall it was a good stay. Value for the money is great as you are in walking distance of a lot of places near downtown. Customer service was excellent in all areas, their on site restaurant was great and food was delicious! Room smelled a bit musty and felt “cozy” but was overall clean and I appreciated the indoor fireplace. It’s a good hotel and I’d recommend it!"

"We normally stay right on the ocean. This hotel is the best of both worlds! So much better than a normal hotel room! The sitting area was so relaxing! We were reading our books and relaxing and we heard Taps being played at the naval academy! What a lovely and unexpected surprise! And in the morning we heard the Revelry. This is two blocks from the old wharf, and one block from excellent dining options downtown. Breakfast was amazing. Will definitely stay there again! "

"This is a beautiful newly remodeled hotel. It is right on the beach with great outdoor and indoor areas to enjoy the view. If you are booking on the ocean side - you will have traffic from the outdoor hallways past your window and you will have the sound of the waves. You are that close to the beach. They hold a $250 damage deposit on each room - just be aware of that at check in. "
