Independent Mill River hotels

"Life House Berkshires looks great, but no one actually works there. Or at least that's how it seemed during our stay. I never got the welcome text they said I would get to be able to communicate with staff. I called the 800 number once to try to get someone and couldn't get a person. I finally did get a person the next time I tried that number and that was to tell them that when we came back for the day after housekeeping had been there, our sink was clogged with muddy water. Not sure if it was...

"We stayed at the Constance location which was gorgeous, inside and out. Having never stayed at a bed and breakfast, we weren't too sure what to expect but it was the perfect vibe for the town/trip. This was a great, little New England getaway for a few days. It felt like a Hallmark movie or something. "

"Alander is a great place to stay. Room is spacious clean. Bed is comfortable and nice. Decor is over the top. Bathroom is neat and clean. Most of all the staff is accommodating, accessible and responsive to our request even it was late. Love the idea of promoting local products. Love the coffee! The restaurant North Star is superb food was great. Hopefully we can go back in spring. Despite the snowstorm we still enjoyed our stay. "
