"The Royal is a very nice hotel. The only negative it is located on a busy highway. The road noise can be a problem to light sleepers. Great location for ferry users."

"Wonderful b&b in the centre of Stornaway, where we stayed 3 nights. Hosts were amazing and allowed us to amend the stay after a ferry cancellation. Rooms are immaculate, large and well appointed. Really comfy bed, 2 chairs and lovely Harris Tweed firnishings. Full size kettle, with tea, coffee and biscuits. Good shower and lovely hot water. We had full breakfast the first morning. It was huge and we couldn't finish it. We had porridge and toast the next 2 mornings, with a range of fruit,...

"Rod and Gloria were wonderful host. Our ferry arrived after dinner hours, so they prepared a platter of sandwiches so we'd have something for dinner. Rod greeted us upon arrival and provided an overview of the area and recommended various sites to see. We stayed at several B&Bs during our Scotland trip and this one was our favorite. "

"Lovely warm welcome. We were in room 2 and were disturbed by the owner's chatter from the room below during the afternoon / early evening. Lovely large room and great pillows and duvet. Perfect for ferry foot passengers. Possibly a little over priced for an out of season stay. The hotel we had stayed in the previous evening was better value for money."

"Having booked a stay away for my other half for a chirstmas preseant (a bucket list one no less) I recieved an email from Tower guest, stating that due to an error, they would not be able to continue my booking. This meant I lost the accomadation (which I was give the money back) however this left me having to source new accomadation which was undue stress at christmas. I will therefore not recommend either this hotel or Expedia to anyone. "
