"À hidden gem of a hotel in Kyoto. I always stay here when I return to Kyoto. A beautiful, well-appointed entrance, and as you pass through the door… fragrances and music that inspired Zen, a modern, uncluttered decor with a beautiful marriage of wood in contemporary architecture, a small bakery in the entrance area where the you can buy a variety of breads baked on site and a courteous welcome as we are used to in Japan. It is obvious that the design team had all their talent and heart at work....

"Great stay. My room was large - for Japan, the bed was extremely comfortable and there was consistent hot water in the shower. The staff were very nice and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast was subpar but still good for a quick snack to start your day. The location was great, just minutes from busy areas, but in a very quiet location - across the street from a shrine/temple! Had a great time here and would return!"

"I can't recommend this hotel enough. The staff and service were 5 stars, with one staff member walking me to the corner to get a taxi in the freezing cold at 5am. The rooms were large by Japanese standards and had everything you need. The ice machine and filtered water in the lobby is really handy with filling drink bottles on the way in and out of the hotel. Walking distance to supermarkets and restaurants. "
