"I stayed at Hotel Mountain Brook for a hiking trip, since it's a short drive from many hiking trails in the area. I couldn't be more pleased with my stay. The hotel is fairly small and creates a more intimate setting for everyone staying, which allowed us to befriend a few people who were staying there around the same time as us. The staff is very kind and accommodating, free breakfast is freshly made to order, there's a wide variety of snacks available in the common area, and the hotel is walking distance from plenty of restaurants and shops. The rooms were very clean and spacious, and there's plenty of parking space behind the hotel. I will definitely be staying here again when I'm back in the area."

"This was my second visit in the last 2 months, in October I stayed 4 nights during the week for business. This recent stay was only 1 night. But EVERYTHING was extrordinary, from the comfort of the bed, the cleanliness of the rooms and hotel proper. And it has an indoor pool to enjoy. "I had always heard about the Catskills, but had never been before now. Found the Shandaken Inn on an internet search, and wasn't sure if it would be all it seemed to be. it was even better! The property was gorgeous, surrounded by inviting peaks; a large open field, with a swimming pool at one end and several independent cottages at the other, offered a great place for our dog and us to amble; a short nature trail, well maintained, connected to an old railroad bed that was nice to stroll. The main building was beautiful and well maintained, and the interiors of our room and the Inn were rustic without being corny, everything well appointed. The Nevele Suite, was perfect. Entry into a small sitting room with a sofa that converts to a bed (didn't use it) as well as a cart with an electric kettle for tea (beautiful wooden tray, labeled with multiple teas) and a French Press for coffee. The main room consisted of a roomy bedroom with a very comfortable King bed and an open floor plan offered another brighter, bigger sitting area, with a gas fireplace.(easy to operate, We have never stayed a m ore dog friendly place than this-dog towel, dog treats, bowls, dog coverlet for bed and furniture-perfect!Everything we even THOUGHT we might need was available in the room. Katie and Raphael, are top notch professionals and provided perfect service and ready conversation about the area (Raphael was born and raised in the area and could recommend anything. A perfect oasis."

"Lovely find! Quaint and quiet with mountains and trees surroundings. Dining and bar right underneath the rooms with an outdoor area for chairs circling a fire ring. We felt like the only ones there on the weekend. Beautiful fall foliage drive to Phoenicia and Woodstock. "
