Once I arrived , I had to wait 30mins due to no staff being on the premises, a lady did come ..she got me a room but then that mfer was gross,just not an attractive little stay. I wouldn’t bother even if I was homeless .

The room itself was dated or I should say very dated. There was popcorn and popcorn kernels behind the single nightstand between two queen beds. The floor lamp in the room was broken. There was a coffee maker but no coffee. The refrigerator freezer part had a layer of ice inside as if it had been turned off and then turned back on again and the ice and melted and then Frozen at the bottom like a sheet of ice. The floor was extremely dirty we wore socks out of habit and the bottom of our socks were black from walking on the floor. We had trouble with our shower and when you flush the toilet for one to two minutes afterwards There Was An Extremely Loud high pitch whining noise. There were other patrons sitting out in patio chairs outside their room which led me to believe that maybe some of these individuals rent long term but it just kind of gave a very rundown vibe. Those were all the cons. The pros to this place is that the staff was very attentive and they were very courteous. They were willing to provide extra towels and there were no bed bugs or other visible rodents or creatures in the room. The beds were okay the blankets that they use are very thin and very cheap but they appeared clean and not stained or any sort of dirt or other gross stuff on them. The fixtures in the room did not work with the switches so we had to unplug and plug the lamp in when we needed it. It's not bad but it needs some tender loving care and the bed linens could stand to be upgraded

When we got to the room, there were no towels or washcloths nor soap or any other toiletries. The furniture was old and very worn. We were told breakfast would be from 6:30 - 9:30. Went to breakfast, there was no breakfast. The coffee pot in the room still had a used coffee filter in it with mold. We will not go back.

Carmel Inn is a lovely local place to stay if you don't want somewhere fancy. It definitely is "antique." The faucets are leaky and the floor is grimey, but you won't find better service or a cheaper room anywhere else in town.

Me and my daughter felt unsafe, our door wouldn't close right from the outside. But seem to close ok front inside.. ODD! but we ended up propping the chair in our room against the door. The bed was terrible, neither of us slept mattress was horrible, the pillow were flat and tiny. The carpet did not look clean and the tub looked dirty. Not a fan and won't stay here again.

Our Experience
The rooms are run down, the bath and shower were disgusting. The floors are black from dirt, don't walk barefoot! The tub handles were broken and did't shut off all the way, so for our entire stay the water ran. We had to ask for towels most of the days we were there. Ours were picked up but not left. The front desk people are also the cleaning people. Apparently they can't get help. The one good thing, and i don't know how this happened, there is a wonderful Italia/Greek restaurant inside the hotel.

Rats running around outside , mice and roaches running around inside room. Room was so dirty underwear , clothes , food left at room . Towels where dirty .. Sheets and pillow cases where dirty .. Don’t stay at this location .. Anywhere but here is better . We left after being there 15 minutes .

You get what you pay for
Bathtub had soap residue and I neatly slipped getting in. Floor was the same. King bed sinks in the middle. Free breakfast was a joke. Cereal with no milk, packaged danish sticks, no juice, dry looking sandwiches. You get what you pay for. Spend a little extra and go elsewhere.

Très mauvaise expérience
Chambres en mauvais etat (j'ai quelques photos mais l'appli ne veut pas les charger), sol gras, petit dejeuner limité à du café, quelques bagels et pain de mie dans le frigo, piscines fermée... Et l'hôte a l'acceuil a dû faire le nécessaire pour rétablir le signal auprès de la société qui gère la TV (merci à lui). Ce n'est que notre expérience mais, quand même, comment cet établissement peut il être noté 8 ?! Les autres établissements indépendants pâtissent de ce type de notation très surévaluée, qui motive la clientèle à ce tourner vers des hotels de chaines, sans trop de risque de mauvaise surprise.
