"My 2 teens and I stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. We enjoyed the spacious room, the wondeful breakfast, and very pleasant staff. Even though we didn't speak German we were able to manage just fine with translate app. Similar comment to another reviewer, Schwerin is mostly an unknown gem. Not overly crowded like the big cities in Germany and, IMO, more beautiful. The lakes and castle are what truly make the town unique. We also rented a car for the day from Enterprise, also...

"A beautiful hotel by Lake ziegelsee. The hotel had their own boat dock. The view from our room was of the lake. The was spacious and clean. Staff were very friendly, and check in was quick. My only complaint was lack of air conditioning. It was quite warm when we were there even with windows open. Breakfast buffet was good. "

"Staff are very friendly and like a chat. Ample rooms at ground level. Unfortunately, despite roller blinds, the train line that passes right outside the front of the hotel kept me up to the wee hours and then again from dawn. Doesn't help if you like to sleep with open window. I didn't, eventhough the small and stuffy room was a bit claustrophobic with the blinds down. Shower doors on rusty tracks. Breakfast is okay, the breakfast room quite nice with a lovely winter garden."

"I just had to spend the night on my way from Denmark to Berlin and for that it was perfect. But there was a constant noice from some sort og machinery, so if you are sensitive to that, it is good to know."

"Away from old town center but walkable.... Reception was not staffed when I arrived, I had to wait until three people who clearly enjoyed their smoke decided to come back in... You have to lock yourself in your room, physical keys so God forbid there is a fire...they locked the front entry door by 7pm... Bed clean, lamps layered with dust you could physically see rise when the light came on... Breakfast and coffee good.... Ear plugs left by side table which I thought was nice and I realized why...

"It was superb and quite a surprise! The room was very large and the dinner was superb! Since we have visited several other German towns and the food could not compare with theirs. The service and hospitality was extra special."

"I would definitely recommend you to stay here, especially if you are only spending 1-2 days in Schwerin. We caught the fireworks show and managed to walk back to the hotel at 11.20pm! Apart from that, other attractions are also located nearby"
