We stayed here for two nights so that we could do a glacier and ice cave hike, and a glacier lagoon boat trip at Jokulsarlon.
The guesthouse was in an amazing setting close to the mountains. The cabins were clean and very comfortable.
The included continental breakfast was excellent. It would have been nice if they'd offered a dinner option too, but the owner was able to recommend the restaurant at the nearby Hotel Smyrlabjorg. We ate there both nights and the food was amazing.
We were also lucky enough to see the northern lights both nights right from the porch outside our cabin.
I would definitely recommend staying here if your are visiting the Jokulsarlon lagoon or doing the ring road.

Hot water was limited for showers. No restaurants close by. Breakfast was available through hotel but no dinner options. Beautiful setting underneath waterfall.
Our stay was enjoyable. We stayed in double room with private bathroom which was clean, comfortable, and a nice size. The breakfast each morning was very nice. The location is great especially if you like peace and quiet. Conveniently located and close to both Höfn and Jokulsarlon.
We stayed here for a night during our ring road journey and everything was perfect! The guesthouse is located on a cozy farm in a beautiful area. The room and accommodations were clean, comfortable, and plentiful. The staff was very friendly (and there was even an adorable farm dog). Our room was in the main house with a shared bathroom and we had no issues whatsoever. The bathroom was clean and accessible and we didn't have to wait to use the shower or anything. The included breakfast was really lovely and got us off to a great start the next morning on our way out. Would happily recommend this guesthouse to anybody passing through on their Iceland adventure!
Beautiful 8kms hiking trail just behind the guesthouse that guides you to the glacier above the cliff and along the river.
Clean and cosy small cabin in a very calm area.

After a long day, we had planned on dinner at the Guesthouse. They DO NOT have a restaurant even though the website states they do. Host told us to drive 30 minutes (each way) to Hofn.
We loved staying here, everything was perfect. The breakfast was delicious, and the bedroom was very comfortable. The employees were very kind and to top it off they have a super cool dog!
My family visited in June, 2024. Expedia bungled our reservation, but the proprietor accommodated us anyway (and even tried to find us another house in the area for additional nights). We stayed in the family cabin that was clean and comfortable. We would definitely return.
Stayed here for one night. Check-in was incredibly easy as they had our keys ready when we got there. The room was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the views were incredible. Highly recommend staying here if you are passing through the area.
I was sad we didn’t have more time here! The property was in a beautiful area with sheep fields around it. Everyone was very friendly, and it was super easy to get to right off the Ring Road. Cute, clean and just what we needed on our trip around Iceland!
What an incredible location to spend the night. The mountains in the background and the ocean out front. The cabin was very clean, the beds were comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was generous with gluten free options available upon request.
Pros:The property was easy to find and parking was right outside our door. As with many places we stayed, the room was very warm in October, so we slept wiht the window open.
Cons: They DO NOT have a restaurant. Extra pillow in the room was dirty and stained with no cover. Breakfast was the most limited we had during our stay in Iceland.
