"Property was on the lake and had a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji if you’re lucky to have a clear day. My 3 kids and I stayed 2 nights and we had one beautiful clear morning. The place seems new and was stocked with everything you would need for simple meals. There was a washing machine and shower had shampoo, soap, etc. There are dining options close by and lots of sight seeing a short drive away. 7eleven close by to pick up snacks and few groceries if needed. "

"Our family of five from Canada (2 adults and 3 kids) had a fantastic stay at this house near Chokoku no Mori in Hakone. The home was clean, spacious, and perfectly suited for a family. The area is beautiful and peaceful — a wonderful place to relax and explore. One of the highlights was visiting the nearby volcano, where the kids especially loved trying the famous black eggs. "Great amenities, spacious villa with a private onsen bath. If I had one criticism, the main bathroom had a musty, wet rag odor indicating possible mold/mildew growth. Suggest management use bleach solution or a power jet washer to thoroughly clean the bathroom areas. Other than that, family had a good stay and u recommend this property. "

"Wonderfully modern and clean home. The best part was the restaurant next door and the private Onsen soaring tub. They provide a number toiletries as a convenience if you didn’t bring any. The mini splits do take time to warm up the home, but once they do it is very comfortable. "

"The owner is not kind or friendly, I had to wait in rain around 40 minutes before a kind neighbor arrived and helped, no bed is ok but tatami and everything is short, I’m 5’8 only and I had to try sleeping in half moon position, no bathroom attached bed room, at night time you have to go down into a very steep stairs which is dangerous, no taxi can enter the premise and will not come to get you. "

"Hygiene of this property was horrible! The property was full of insects and dirt. Bugs and spiders were everywhere - on dining table, on floor, on wall and even on the bed - literally a bug house! We were scared by a giant spider on the bed. It is beyond a normal hygiene problem but constitutes a safety concern for residents. Nevertheless, most terrifying and disappointing thing is the attitude and response of the property manager. We tried to contact the owner and asked for cleaning the dead...

Cons: To start, the walk to the property is the furthest walk on the entire street practically only up hill walking. It is quite annoying to get anywhere if you want to leave the property. "What an amazing stay at this beautiful spot! Plan getting there ahead cause not all taxis will go right up to it but once we walked in it was a paradise! Greeted at the door, with the ultimate Balinese experience and hospitality with a welcome drink, custom options, a massage treatment to choose from, and then the room- wow! What a view over the hills with the onsen tub on the balcony!! The amenities, the robes, the traditional tatami and floor bedding- such an authentic yet comfortable experience! The private and catered dinner and breakfast experience along this tranquility was not only delicious but made us feel like royalty! The best part was the friendliness and attention of all staff! Thank you!!"

"My husband and I had the most relaxing night at Gora Hanaougi. The staff were the most attentive and kind. The kaiseki dinner and the Japanese style breakfast were both outstanding, full of local ingredients. The onsen was obviously the highlight of the stay. The private onsen in our room was quite the experience. The room had open air onsen, so we could get fresh air, but it’s covered so even during the torrential rainfall, we could enjoy the hot bath while listening to the rain. All in all, the only regret that we have is that we could only stay for one night, and not more, as we were on a tight schedule in Japan. Thank you to all the staff at Gora Hanaougi for making our stay an exceptional experience."

"Beautiful hotel- lovely surroundings. Stayed in the corner room on the forest tower and the room was fantastic- lovely view. So nice to use the onsen on the sixth floor of this building. Staff of course are amazing. Do be sure to stroll the garden- so beautiful. Breakfast is an affair each morning- felt very pampered. Highly recommend."
