Hanoi Royal Palace Hotel 2 is a small older hotel. It rained the entire week we stayed there and our room felt damp. There was always condensation on the windows as well as the walls and floor in the bathroom. There was no fan in the bathroom which added to the problem. Rooms are not soundproof and the noise from the busy Hanoi traffic was constant.
On the positive side, the staff were all excellent. The place was clean and well cared for. The breakfast was good and the service was great. Our room had a large balcony but the weather prevented us from using it.

We paid a lot of money to upgraded our room. Room, service, food etc was good however, the boat only goes a short distance into the Bay, then drops anchor. You do not cruise through the bay on this ship. There is a small vessel for doing day activities so the upgraded room was of little value and the cruise didn’t meet our expectations. Consider a smaller ship that can explore the whole bay.
