Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Waterpark, is a popular water park that is open for much of the year. Enjoy more than 33 rides and attractions including high-speed water slides and whitewater rapids. If you are after something quieter, relax in a hot tub or splash around with the kids in the family water playgrounds.
There are so many water rides in this indoor park that it can be difficult to know where to start your adventures. Choose to twist and turn through the tunnels of the Bahnzai Pipeline, body board on the Boogie Bahn, or thrill at the sudden drop in the 81-foot (25-meter) Cliffhanger Speed Slide. If you still have some energy, twist, turn then drop 20 feet (6 meters) in the Dragon Blaster.
When you need some time out from the slides, relax on the more serene Kristal Beach. Float on a tube down the Kristal River and stop at one of the beaches along the way.
Bring a picnic or enjoy a Texas-style barbecue, Texas brisket or slow smoked ribs. There is also traditional fast food as well as more healthy options.
The water park is open right through summer and at certain times during the winter season. Check the website for dates. During winter, enjoy heated indoor pools and slide or zoom through the dark on the Guada-Loopy Tube Chutes. These are over four-stories high and run for over 390 feet (120 meters). Travel at more than 30 miles (48 kilometers) per hour on the Rohr! slide. Float on the indoor tidal wave river with its continuous waves. Take the little ones to the Torrent Beach Kids Area where there is a giant ship or the Wasserfest Kids Area for the toddlers. Adults will enjoy the swim-up bar and the Blastenhoff Heated Pool.
This Schlitterbahn Waterpark is located in Galveston, Texas. Visit on a weekday or early or late in the season to avoid the crowds. Admission prices vary and there are discounts for children and seniors and for those who purchase two-day or seasonal tickets.
