Independent Eden Roc hotels

"The location of this hotel is unbeatable. The volcano crater is right at the back of the hotel. And it's one of the best spot to view the crater. You can view it from the lobby and dining room, or walk out for a more open view. One thing that makes staying here really great is that: you could only see the red lava when it's dark (and cold). So ppl stay late or come in really early to watch the sun rise. Staying here makes everything convenient. The food in the restaurant was actually not bad and reasonably priced given the location and view. (a delightful surprise). Breakfast was more pleasant since it was mostly the hotel guests so not crowded. Hotel facilities were old. But I didn't have high expectation so wasn't too disappointed. Staff were nice and always trying to help. The rooms have baseboard heating. Water was not hot enough for shower at 8. It got warmer at 10. That's the only critical complaint we had. "

"Everything about the property itself was great! Instructions were clear and the lodge was a nice set up with ambient views of the forest. Staff who checked us in and out were also welcoming and friendly. One thing that was concerning were the zionists flags in the nearby area, so safety was in question. Those flags symbolize the support and complacency of the ongoing genocide in Palestine. If the property owners and management don’t see it as a problem, I would not stay there again and let others know too. "

"This is really a nice place to stay. The view outside the room is amazing! There’s no doubt that I would like to stay here again. Very nice and friendly host. Awesome experience to live here, it is like live in home, and the room is well-decorated and clean. The host is so nice and if you need a ride to the airport, you can schedule with them. Also, they will prepared you breakfast between 6am to 9am. "

"Loved the sound of the falls. This place is actually a great value compared to other options in this part of the island especially because of the free breakfast and coffee/tra available throughout the day. They offer optional paid activities which are great and unique. Access is thru a very long, single lane road so best to arrive during the day. "

"It was unclear whether we were to have breakfast or not. We thought we were getting the continental breakfast but because we had a kitchen (which we didn’t use) we were not given breakfast. As far as the lava tube goes, we were told you had to have a guided tour. Communication in advertising not clear. "
