"Searched many hotels for a few weeks before choosing this one. I was advised it was a nice place but one of the older hotels. Due to price and location I decided to take the chance. I can say with confidence that it was the perfect choice. On arrival the porters were really friendly, which should be expected, but my initial impression of the front desk was professional but a bit cold (maybe she was having a bad morning). "From start to finish, our stay couldn't be faulted. The staff were incredibly helpful, professional and friendly. The hotel itself was beautiful and clean and was a short walk from the marina and JBR, filled with restaurants. We used the spa, pool and kids club which was great. I frequently called to ask for baby milk, expecting to get charged at check out, but they didn’t! Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again. "

"Great stay at Dukes the Palm, loved it there. Only issue was the lazy river which was shut for two weeks for maintenance which was a huge shame as I really wanted to use with my daughter. Similarly the bathroom did not have a bath and I thought it did which was a bit of a pain for bathing my daughter but the hotel did it provide a portable bath. The food was exceptional and we thoroughly enjoyed it!"

"Really good location for the beach, shopping and restaurants. Traffic after 11 is absolutely horrific. We had three taxis cancel on us from the Atlantis waterpark due to the location of this hotel. We had to get out of the taxi and walk 10/15 mins on multiple occasions because the traffic was so bad so just be warned. We had wings and fries at the pool and the fries were good but the wings were disastrous. The lifts are slow and take a while, one afternoon I was waiting 5-10 mins for a lift....

"Riu is one ofvtwo hotels newly constructed on a new man made palm. The beaches are complete, but other than the two hotels.. Most of the area is a building site. The hotel was fine for our needs. Beach lovely, hotel clean and facilities good. Id say the only two negatives are that; 1 - the flight path is close to the hotel, so expect a bit of noise. (Its not directly over head) 2 - Construction work was sometimes going on late at night nearby. Didnt really upset me but a friend commented on...
