My room was comfortable and quiet. I was a little disappointed to find that Wifi was only free for 30 minutes, especially as there are hotels nearby with completely free Wifi. It was also a little inconvenient that the kitchen was not open so there was no hot food.

It was accessible from the city centre, clean and tidy, and staff were very helpful. I didn't like the fact that I had to pay for internet access and that 30 minutes was used up even when I wasn't online. A little disappointing when staying for business.
We requested an accessible room making it clear that we were using a mobility scooter during our stay. Room 317 on the third floor was difficult and inconvenient to get to through several heavy fire doors, a tight and difficult turn into the room immediately after a fire door. Even with the help of a carer, also with limited mobility, it was a very time consuming and energy draining exercise. The 'accessible room' did not have any mobility aids. The shower could not be used and when going for breakfast we had to negotiate between and move bedding trollies about. In the event of a fire or other emergency it would have been impossible to evacuate as the lifts cannot be used. Other guests would also be at risk when being held up by a mobility scooter in the corridor trying to get out. The so called meal deal was impossible in practice to get, even though it was specifically requested to start. The staff member simply put it down to Corporate manipulation and misleading ads.

Exactly what you expect from a travelodge, ideal location if you don’t want to be in the city centre traffic
