This is our go to place to stay when we are in Corner Brook. The staff is amazing, the rooms are clean amd quiet, the food is great, and they are within distance of anything we want to do there.

I had found half eaten food under the bed for god knows how long. The beds were rock hard. People in the halls screaming all night. Around the facility, there were multiple homeless individuals begging for cigarettes, cigarette butts and money.

I tried to have some rest but people in the same floor were too noisy, late that night and early in the morning, I wasn’t happy that morning and let the guy in the desk to know about my experience but he was so indifferent about it.

Love the location. The bathroom in our room was not so clean as there were still some dirt on the floor when we checked in. The service in the restaurant however during breakfast was awesome—completely the opposite of Chad at the front desk. Not smiling at all. His choice of words was not acceptable for a hospitality worker. Saying things like, “you’re supposed to checkout 15mins ago but you have 45mins to checkout” when we asked politely for a later checkout as we have asked for 12pm checkout upon checkin. We understand if we couldn’t get later checkout than that but for someone who works at the desk, that’s not how you talk to your guests.

Love that this hotel is pet friendly and the staff have always been excellent. While it is an older property, with the exception of the direct "side" stairwell to the exterior, which is in need of some repairs and TLC, the hotel is clean. Location is conveniently situated downtown with access to walking trail system, restaurants, coffee shops etc. There is some noise from traffic being on a main street if your room is on the front of the building. This is not our first stay at this property.

For the most part it was a good experience. The building is looking tired and could use a makeover. The stairs needed to be vacuumed, not done at all during my stay and appeared to not have been done in a while, full of salt and sand. Front desk staff should have some sort of uniform. The guy who checked me in and out looked like he just got back from a weekend in the woods and never had time to put on something more professional. He was very friendly and helpful but first appearances make a difference. Room was clean and comfortable and at the end of the day that is the main thing.

I was unimpressed with the tired state of the room and common areas. This hotel is in desperate need of an update. That could have been overlooked if I had t had to listen to very boisterous cleaning staff at 7:30AM right outside my door. And they were vacuuming the hall at 8am. I’m glad I wasn’t sleeping then. Others had “do not disturb” signs out.
