No matter where you’re coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you prepare well enough. We’ve made a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Dillon vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First of all, pack in your passport, official ID, wallet and vital medications. Next, you’ll need some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling book and a phone filled with your favorite movies are some wonderful options. If you hope to take a quick nap, a comfy neck pillow and some earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, make room for a few toiletry items to ensure you step off the plane looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don’t have a pocket knife hiding in one of the compartments of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive substances, like aerosols and matches, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your number one priority is to be as comfortable as you can. Don layers of breathable clothing and pack a sweater in case you get cold. Opt for flat, slightly roomy shoes as it’s possible that your feet and ankles will swell during the journey. Leave the stilettos and hiking boots in your checked baggage.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long-distance flying is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To avoid this, take every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression tights and socks are another easy way to help reduce this risk.
