"Our visit to Mellington Hall Country House Hotel was fantastic. The property is amazing, the staff were really attentive and amazing also. The food was superb and the service throughout was exceptional. After the meal we sat in the lovely building which has quiet rooms or an open fire. We went just before Christmas and so the property was probably quieter than during the summer months, but we definitely would return to enjoy walking in the surrounding countryside. "23A High Street is a timber framed mid terrace cottage with ancient beams exposed inside. It is highly decorated with knickknacks with a hare theme.Knighton is a small very hilly quiet town. I had no difficulty finding free street parking, but spaces are limited. Tom loves to meet new guests, and he allows them free use of his well equipped kitchen. I will go again if there is another log show at Builth Wells (40 minutes drive) "

"The Knighton Hotel is quiet and well-located. Unfortunately, they don't do meals, although they do have a coffee shop, which I didn’t try as I was out allday walking. The evening I arrived there was a leak through the inspection hatch in the ceiling of my room. When I reported it I was instantly moved to another and larger room (turned out the leak was coming from the shower in the room above). Good service there.
