We have stayed at the hotel a few times and it has the lovely feel of a family run hotel although I assume it’s not. Staff are lovely and really helpful.

Nice place and great area but the smallest bed. Rapid for a king but that was no king and we are both over 6 foot. We didn’t have time to say anything as we were staying one night . There seems to be a massive range in the types of room but we paid over 130 for one night plus 14 parking and really we could have done better in another hotel.

The Hermitage Hotel is an old hotel that has seen better times. The hotel is refurbishing the rooms, we were at the 4th floor and rooms are great: new, extremely clean and very comfortable. The worst part of the hotel is the breakfast and poor service that is offered: lack of staff, ham with mould, cheese that is so overdue that the corners are lifting due to dryness. When pointed out to the service, the shrug their shoulders, didn’t say anything and left (the cheese/ham stayed, not sure if they removed them later). Similarly with pastry: had to ask repeatedly to refill the pastry board. In summary, an hotel that is trying to upgrade, which is good. My advice will be to train the staff and the chef in the breakfast.

Not a 4 star

I generally don’t have the need to review hotels, but on this occasion, I did an exemption. Not sure, how this is a 4 star hotel. Very basic for £170 a night room. 2nd floor closed for refurbishment and very noisy until late. The highlight of the visit was the young lad at the reception Connor.

Fantastically Located

Was given a quirky room at first (tv on a bracket on the wall which didn’t swivel so couldn’t watch from the bed and the only chair was below the tv, no place to put kettle unless on a very small table next to the bed (kettle tray bigger than table) and no sockets anywhere other than by the bed so my wife wouldn’t be able to dry hair anywhere near a mirror). On mentioning some of this to the staff, they understood and moved us to a different room. This room was huge compared to last one, and we had a great night’s stay. Breakfast was a buffet and tasty. Every member of staff we spoke to or saw was helpful and nice. Great location but parking was unavailable unless you were there early, or guaranteed if you booked direct with the hotel. Other deals available also, but only if you booked direct with the hotel. If going to Bournemouth, this is a great location as right at the bottom of the town by the beach, gardens, BIC and Pavilion.

Great location and huge room. But, no room in car park. Had to pay to park in multi storey 5 minutes walk away. Also, central heating system made a loud noise - air in system? - which did not allow for a restful, quiet night's sleep.

We have stayed there for birthday party. Location is great but staff service were unexpected for hotel like this. I called reception in night for towels and toilet tissue so the guy was in night shift at reception he told me come nd pick up from downstairs and when I asked them I have a headache because I was outside for long time I can’t able to come he said I will come then didn’t show up. In morning I woke up at 11 and check out time was 11. Reception called for check out I explained my condition to other guy at reception to give me an hour I don’t mind to pay because I have to get ready for checkout. He was like sorry but housekeeping is at door I can’t make it and then I told about the guy who was talking on phone in night when I requested for towels and tissue then he just completely ignored conversation and told me I can’t give you an extra one hour check out time is 11. Location wise it was good but all is matters staff behaviour and manager responsibility. In case of staff and manager responsibility and behaviours I would rate 1 out of 5. Hope you guys have great day

It wasn’t stipulated in the booking that we had to pay for parking. It usually is free for guests but NOT if booked through a third party. Breakfast selection was good. We had selected a premium room, but I’m not sure if that was what we got. It looked nothing like the photos on the site. Otherwise the property is good value for money and conveniently situated.
