Although I have yet to understand the late check in (1-2a) procedure for HGI Bel Air, our stay was great. I wish there was a consistency between all HGIs. Our late check-in at HGI Tewksbury, Massachusetts was fast and uneventful over the phone. Bel Air not so much.
The “supervisor” repeatedly told me that late check-ins such as mine was unorthodox and insisted that I confirm the process with a credit card. The room was prepaid through a third-party and usually a card swipe is required upon arrival. I was told repeatedly that if I didn’t provide credit card information over the phone, that I would be considered a “no show” and my reservation would be dropped…even though it had been prepaid. This was not the first time I experienced issues at HGI Bel Air. Unfortunately, the manager, James was unavailable during my stay. Some consistency in the HGI business model would be a definite improvement. Get your stuff together Bel Air. I’ll be back in mid-March. I hope you fix this glitch.
