I’ve stayed at 3 separate Barcelo hotels in the past 3 years, this is the worst.
It’s a huge site, it was a 20min round trip to walk to reception or for breakfast/dinner.
When there was a problem with my keycard slightly before checkout time, the staff were not helpful, apologetic or sympathetic.
It was 10 mins to walk there, queue to be seen, separate ‘royal level’ reception wouldn’t even talk to me, pointed me in the direction of main reception.
All in all, a 35 minute total to resolve a key problem which left me 20 mins to shower and get organised.
Room cleaning staff only made beds and changed towels, not one thing else, it isn’t acceptable with the price paid and for an upmarket hotel chain like Barcelo.
Restaurant staff and food good, can’t fault that.
Bar staff didn’t want to be there, rushed drinks and onto the next.
Bars need tidying up, the harbour area is lovely, but the bar and entertainment area could be changed and made a lot nicer and certainly cleaner.
All in all, I won’t stay again, there are better hotels out there.
