"You’re right on the edge of the best reserve in the area & the game drives are all on the Shamwari Game Reserve. These are better than we ever expected & our ranger/guide, Cillia, was the best! Daniel at the Lodge managed everything for us & was always there for our needs, nothing was too much trouble & he ensured everything ran like clockwork. Cynthia was brilliant, always smiling and calm, Ntombi was also excellent and helped us with our questions about local culture. Overall superb!"

"The Woodberry was in a tranquil location in the reservation. The safari drives were good with knowledgeable trackers and the apres safari drinks around the fire was a nice touch. The lodges were spacious and comfortable and the staff were friendly. It's a shame wifi is not available in the lodges. The only disappointment for us was the food. "A luxury all- inclusive game lodge experience. The 8km drive from the main road is dirt and gravel so a little challenging for our tiny hire car. A warm welcome on arrival and our room was very spacious and comfortable ( the bed was quite hard but perhaps the mattress was new). "Hopewell is potentially a stupendous destination. Accommodation was excellent and luxurious. I feel they tried too hard to provide very fancy food that did not quite come off and this could be improved. They do not have the Big 5 but there is plenty of game to see and the Ranger is excellent. This is a fantastic location for a honeymoon or just a peaceful getaway in the Eastern Cape Bush."

"This was one of the most amazing experiences I had in my life and I would highly recommend. One piece of information I wish we had known before arriving. 1) Checkin time is 2 pm and this is exactly the tone they serve lunch . We had eaten before we arrived- but they were expecting us to eat . 2. We did our first game drive at 3:30 pm on the day we arrived.
