Small town so can't complain about the location. I love vintage and the vibe of this place feels like it's from old 50s movies or the ski lodge in White Chrismas. The owner upgraded our bedroom for free. The bathroom is super tiny but it was very clean. Love the breakfast.

I love old properties. The bed was very comfortable, the room was small as we had a king bed but very clean and quiet.
Property owner was very rude when I ask to check in late. I’ve been told that they’re closed at 10pm and no one will be there to check me in and “No one is special”. But after long and nervous conversation she find a way to check me in and leave the room keys in lockbox.
The hotel was built in 1930 and still has the snazzy feel of that era - including the fancy “lift” aka “elevator” - although the hotel’s been updated in various ways. The room was a bit small contrasted with modern hotels, but was more than adequate for this solo motorcycle rider. The “Continental breakfast” was one of the best I’ve ever had (thanks to LONG TIME employee Linda). Overall I found the hotel fairly fascinating and well worth the money - but DON’T bring a pet unless you’re prepared to pay a steep fee and possibly be required to go elsewhere. Thanks to the owners for going out of their way on my late checkout today.
The ownership were amazing during our stay and directly involved in the operation of this historic hotel built originally in 1930.
We were made to feel welcome and the property has a great family & community vibe.
The morning continental breakfast was excellent as well. When visiting Monte Vista this historic property is worth a stay.
The receptionist was very courteous and considerate. Room was small but had everything necessary. Bed was comfortable but the sheet looked used and not changed/washed after use. Sink was tiny. Water could easily drip off to the floor while washing if not careful.
Very nice and clean facility. Owner was friendly and helpful. 1930's building is beautiful, has old fashion elevator with sliding cage door. Very clean and well kept. Only complaint is the very small sink with mirror above that sticks out 3-4 inches so you cannot put face over sink.
My truck broke down so I had to stay here for a couple nights and the owner or manager was very helpful with suggestions on where to eat and made sure I had everything I needed. This is an older hotel but the rooms are modern but tiny. For one person it was no problem but probably would be tougher with a big family. Lots of the original woodwork throughout the hotel including the original elevator from the 1930s that still in operation. Unfortunately, I didn't get up early enough to try the breakfast but all reviews I've read have said good things so I'm kind of disappointed in myself. I definitely recommend this place and the price was more than reasonable. I have definitely spent more for significantly worse accommodations
