"I recently spent 3 nights at the Honjin Hiranoya Kachoan and loved it. The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. The whole experience from the room to the food and onsen gave me a really good insight in to Japanese culture. Property is very central, close to old town and restaurants. I tried both the Japanese and American breakfasts and liked both. "Good location. Rooms a little small and beds raised on a platform...potential danger. Fairly basic but clean and tidy. Breakfasts either Western or Japanese on alternative days. Neither great but provided with great care. Free drinks for a short period in the evening. Staff polite and always helpful."

"Lovely hotel close to the morning market and other lovely places for shopping/eating. They offer their own onsen which is a plus. The room was small but very clean and confortable. "

"All was good for us with the exception of the breakfast. Breakfast was overcrowded and we waited for 30min longer than our scheduled time. At that point some of the items were not available on the buffet. Outside breakfast the place was great for us. Location is good, lots of parking and a Family Mart right across the road for supplies. "
