「Nach Ankunft war das Zimmer unzureichend gereinigt; es gab Motten. Nach einer Beschwerde wurden alle Probleme umgehend gelöst und wir erhielten als Entschädigung ein Weinpräsent. Das Personal war zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und opulent, das Restaurant stets gut besucht (auch von Einheimischen, was ein gutes Zeichen war). Die Anlage ist schön, könnte aber gepflegter sein. 」

「Stunning hotel. Service was exceptional - they could not do enough to make our stay comfortable. Only reason we didn’t give it 5 stars, is that it would benefit from more sun loungers. Pool was too small to swim in, but very beautiful. 」

「Van Der Stel was really well located in Stellenbosch, but had a great calmness down my residential street. It’s a short drive to downtown, but very close to the university. The pool and garden are beautiful, and the rooms are clean, if a little more dated than the photos. Breakfast is fab. Would recommend!」

「We stayed here 30 years ago and it was great to be back in beautiful Paarl. New owners are very friendly and so helpful... their little doggie snowy so sweet. Its a listed building and having breakfast in the old part of the house is so cool. That is a true South African breakfast. Delicious. Never tasted a eggs bennie that good.」

「Das Hotel liegt in sehr zentraler, aber ruhiger Lage, am Ende einer wenig befahrenen Seitenstraße. Stellenbosch hat uns gefallen und war recht europäisch. Das Personal war sehr nett und hat uns auch direkt mit den Koffern geholfen. Das Frühstück war recht einfach gehalten, aber soweit gut. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit einfacherer Ausstattung gebucht. Zeitnah sollte insb. das Bad renoviert werden. Es war aber trotzdem noch sauber. Preis Leistung hat soweit gepasst!」
