I Checked in on the 6th of February but did not stay. I came back on the 7th of February at 7AM and a bunch of people who called themselves employees of the hotel who did not get paid, did not let me through the gate. They threatened to harm me if I did not go away.

The pool was under construction. The hotel seemed old and broken down. The room was decent and clean. But there were gross stains on the lamp shades. The shower in the toilet would spill water over. I was even refused a pool towel citing that I wasn't a guest. The pool towel I eventually got was old and in tatters.

По приезду пошли в ресторан отеля поужинать ,когда стали расплачиваться с нас попросили на много больше денег.... мы спросили откуда такая сумма и нам сказали что налог 30% мы были неприятно удивлены. В номерах уборка очень плохая можно сказать ее нет, меняют только полотенце. Вообщем я этот отель не советую.

I think the hotel was nice a few years ago but now they are not taking care of the area. There are no chairs nearby the pool, there is a fence to the beach and also security but I don’t see why because the locals are still hanging out and try to convince you to do a tour. Which is basically ok but then they should get rid of the fence so you can enjoy the view... only one of some concerns I have. All together i would not stay there again.

One night stay

Stayed one night with another couple. It was a Wednesday and the hotel was basically empty though there we handful foreigners. My previous visit was around 15 years ago and it was full of guests and bustling with activity then. Entrance project a rundown place but hotel still has the same facilities and looks inside. Rooms are spacious and have most of the facilities most of the other of the same class do not provide. Staff was quite courteous and was willing to help. Food was a question as there were no guests. I feel it needs a good General Manager who can revive this and a good marketing campaign to back him up.

Nothing particularly pleasant.

The staff at reception have to be commended for being pleasant to deal with. Unfortunately, their hotel is not. I had booked in for multiple nights as a contractor working a couple of towns over. On advice from the company, I was to change hotels to a closer location, which I was more than happy to do. My introduction to the room was a young man who helped take my tool cases to the room and he asked me a lot of questions about myself and tried to tell me his life story, this is the total opposite of what I wanted after travelling for over 24 hours straight, knowing I had to be ready for work in 7 hours. He kept asking me if I was going to go on a tour and tried to give me his brother's business card. I had to tell him multiple times that I was there for work and that I would not be touring. Obviously my red eyes, extremely reserved nature and tool cases were not a big enough hint. I had to explain that I was on a "business" trip and I handed his brother's business card back to him. Then he didn't seem like he wanted to leave. I had to close the door on him. The shower water pressure was pitifully weak and the shower was overly complicated to use. I had to hold both stops open while turning the water on. The balcony door would not lock as the latch was broken. Not wanting to deal with another person in my state of mind, I fixed the latch myself. They were sad to see me check out the next morning but allowed me to do so without a problem. So that was very nice of them.

Terrible BAD experience ever had

I have checked in the hotel around 8.00 pm. I booked superior room. But they said they have upgrade my room to a suite because of unavailability of superior room. I was really happy at that time. My room number was 308. But I experienced terrible situation when I entered the room. Following Room Amenities were not there; • Bathroom towels • Water bottles • Flat screen TV • Mini refrigerator • Tea bags • Dustbin in bathroom • Glasses • Tissue box I called front desk and asked them. I got very funny answer. They said their service staff on strike and difficult to provide those things. Then I mentioned them it’s very difficult me to spend there without water bottles and bath towels. It was around 9.00 pm and really difficult me to change the hotel. Then front doorkeeper bring two small water bottles and very small towel (1.5’ x 2.5’) to me. That towel was not enough but we forced to use it. There were cockroaches in the room. There was a sofa in the room. It was really wet. Cannot seat on it. Next day morning I spoke to front office manager called Sameera. He has accepted all of these problems. But how they treat to guests like this. At least they have to provide basic needs like water bottles and towels. Service staff is very unprofessional. This hotel management is terrible. They don’t know at least basic needs of guests. I am not recommending anyone for this hotel.

The hotel seriously needs a good renovation...

1. Booked 2 doubles and 3 triples. At checking were told that the triples had one large ned. Had to pay extra to get rooms with three beds 2. Rooms did not have the basics. Shampoo, soap, tea/milk bags. Had to ask for them. Said they do not providw tea bags to room. But with a little fuss and obliged... 3. Pool did not serve towels after 6pm although it was open till 7pm 4. The Bar did not have the basic beers. Had a special one which was twice expensive as normal beer. Liquor was very limited to few choices 5. Dinner was terrible. Mix vegetables, Sweet and sour fish, spinach and rice... 6. Room toilet seem to have been renovated but the seat was small to the bidet. Sittting was a challenge... 7. Rooms had old and unpleasent furniture... 8. Stray dogs were roaming around the hotel... Overall, a very Poor Experience...

The staff were great but floging a dead horse

This should not be classed as a three star hotel. The pool area was really dirty and the food was really basic The same thing served for lunch and dinner very hot and spicy. My partner had to get a pot noodle as there was nothing on the menu for her. I've been coming to Sri Lanka for 11 years and this is the worst 3 star hotel I've been to don't book this hotel and travel half way round the world

Hotel close to the a beautiful beach.

Lovely hotel with fabulous staff. Clean comfortable room with balcony view of the grounds. Hotel is not a four 4 star but with some improvements could be. There is a busy train track in front of the hotel but this did not in anyway affect my stay. Food is good but my biggest complaint was the the poor wifi service which could only be accessed in the lobby.

Ett inte längre lyxigt hotell - mycket nedgånget!

Villa Ocean view är väldigt nergånget och slitet, enligt personalen beror detta på "management problems". De flesta i personalen kunde inte engelska vilket ställde till det. Plus i kanten för att de ordnare med allergivänlig mat. Rummet luktade otroligt illa och unket - men badrummet var nyrenoverat. Vi hade ett superior rum och det kändes inte. Bara wifi i lobbyn. Min familj var på hotellet för ca 10 år sedan och då var det jätte lyxigt - nu väldigt slitet. Ruchbanan i barnpoolen var borttagen, det saknades på flera ställen i varje pool klinkers, de hade inga parasoll, allt var otroligt slitet.

Normal Hotel-but expensive for the price.

No Wifi in the room. Needed to walk to Lobby for really bad internet. Hotel condition is not like in the photo -it's much older. Stuff is not professional at all. There were bugs in the cottages.

Family Vacation

I stayed with my family in the Christmas Eve at this hotel. This was my second visit, 17 years after our honeymoon at the same venue. Courtesy of the staff at the front office needs to be upgraded. Restaurant staff was great. Good food. Initially given a deteriorated room but immediately changed upon request. I have a feeling that they tempt to underestimate the customers booking through online channels, I may be wrong, but that's the same feeling my spouse and kids felt at check in and check out.
