Both the staff were extremely helpful, be sure to visit the restaurant recommended, especially Trattoria Storica, spagetti pesto, baked seabass with potatoes, then panacotta were delicious and staff very entertaining. Combo has perfect grounds to sit and chill very reasonable. The hotel is situated in the perfect spot, very central, just 20 min walk to all sites. Hotel is very clean and rooms are lovely with ensuite and air-conditioning, perfect to put your head down after a long day sightseeing. But no other amenities. So very reasonably priced. Thank you for a perfect stay, we woukd definitely return.

The property was nestled between the restaurants and shops and my room had a balcony over the canal. It was relaxing to watch the gondola's pass under me. Host and his little dog were wonderful. Communication before I arrived at the property was excellent as all my questions were answered. I love the decor because it gave me the feel of Venice 100 years ago, but with air conditioning and a great shower. I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at Hotel Al Sotoportego for 3 nights. GREAT location. Lots of restaurants and shops around. The hotel was really easy to find. We took the water taxi from the airport and with Google Maps as our guide we walked to the hotel in about 10 minutes (not far at all). We arrived quite late in the day so the concierge left our room key in an envelope with my name on it and two complimentary bottles of water. Our room was great! Perfect for a 3 night stay. No issues with cleanliness or comfort. The room had lots of charm. The air conditioning worked GREAT - it was definitely nice to come into a cool room after a long day in the sun. There was a mini fridge in our room which was awesome to have for drinks. The concierge was SO nice. He was so willing to give us recommendations for places to eat, places to walk, directions, help buying train tickets etc. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to other travellers going to Venice! It was a great place to stay.

The property was easy to find and decorated so beautifully. The staff was spectacular. I can’t say enough nice things about it. It was a little noisy but it’s a bit expected given the location and the hotel provided ear plugs. The bed was not too comfortable but the price was great and I would still come back!

We were welcomed very warmly. The staff provided a detailed map with recommendations for food and water taxi. The hotel was located in a great place for us to explore Venice.

the help and the hospitality was good. we did know we were on the 5th floor,no problem for a 70 yr.old, knowing there was no lift. Room#1 had a double bed, the only problem was, the bed was pushed against the wall on one side, you could not move it out or you would take away the walk way to the window one way and the bathroom the other way. Room was small! would not recommend room #1

The location and place were perfect. Both Luca and the other gentleman was particularly helpful with sharing information and assisting me with all my needs. They had small treats and water ready for my arrival at no additional cost. This was a great touch to making me feel welcome after traveling.

A Dream Vacation – Like a Home Away from Home! Our stay at Sotoportego Hotel in Venice was nothing short of a dream. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Everyone was so friendly and courteous, truly making us feel like part of the family. A special mention goes to Maria, who took care of cleaning our room. You have to meet her! She’s incredibly kind, attentive, and charismatic — always checking in to see if we needed anything and making sure we were comfortable. Her warmth really stood out and added a personal touch to our stay. The location couldn’t be more perfect — close to all the main attractions, delicious restaurants, and everything you could possibly need. It made exploring Venice incredibly easy and enjoyable. I can’t emphasize enough how much I loved this bnb. The host is amazing. We arrived after check in and were given detailed instructions.. best way to get there from airport with several other options if we didn’t choose the recommended, how to get there from the water taxi exit we chose, how to get in, a detailed map of the area with dining recommendations, etc. We met the host the morning after check in and he was so nice and had so much information about the area and recommendations on what to do. Also the room was amazing. We got the canal view room and it did not disappoint. I loved everything about this stay. I would absolutely recommend it!
