"Be very careful if booking this property especially through Expedia. While booking a series of properties for a tour of the western cape I failed to notice that the calendar on the third booking, Rietfontein, had reverted to the current date this year instead of the date we reqd for next year. "The road to and from the cottages is challenging for some. I was not fussed but my wife is scared of heights and in some parts was anxious of the sheer drop. The cottage takes you back in time as there is no electricity, hot water or mobile phone reception. I really enjoyed the seclusion and quietness but this may not be for everyone.
