「Absolutely perfect from the start to finish. Staff so friendly and welcome dogs, food was excellent, hotel room was fab. Definitely will stay again, most comfortable stay I have ever had taking my dog with me and he is not a small dog ( Rhodesian Ridgeback) but they made us so welcome. 10 out of 10 」

「It was an amazing stay, staff lovely and helpful, food was great in restaurant, rooms were really nice too, only negative would be bathroom! Tiles broken on floor where toilet is and window need a blind or curtain as tge frosted stickers are peeling off and people can see into bathroom! However this did not take away from an amazing stay. Anyone using pool should probably be made aware pre visit that you need a padlock for lockers also.」

「Lovely property overlooking the Green.. rooms were very well decorated and seemed very opulent.. the room we had though felt a little cramped.. the bed was very big. But was awkward to get around.. the tv should be on the wall.. the bed was so high off the ground that you couldn’t see the tv properly! And my biggest bug bear in hotels etc… no dressing area.. no where to sit to dry hair etc!! But the hotel was very clean.. staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely… easy...

「the room was not warm enough and although mentioned to the staff, it was some time before the heating was sufficient. The tea maker was in a cupboard on the floor. This is the first time I have encountered this in a hotel, This was not easy to make the first cup of tea in the morning. Having mentioned these two points, the staff we met were very helpful and pleasant. 「The bed and breakfast accommodation was very nice, clean tidy and well presented. Had a meal in the main pub which was also very nice. Breakfast (cooked English) was served which again was freshly prepared and a choice of cereals was also available.」

「What I love this hotel the most is the breakfast, its by order and put you feel like on vocation (I am on biz trip). The staff was very nice as well. The hotel location is perfect and nearby market place, very easy to walk around this lovely city. The only thing that need to improve is the internet connection, it was that good in my room.」

「Lovely historical property and good value for money. Quiet location, great stop off for travelling on the A66, with Barnard Castle just a short drive. Easy check into cosy courtyard cottage. Nicely decorated and furnished, though the bed would benefit from a better quality mattress. Friendly staff and good breakfast. Evening pub menu satisfactory but not exceptional.」

「Very nice lady who looked after us very well, lovely pub , room was good apart from being to hot for my liking luckily two huge windows we could open for some cool air , bed was huge and comfortable, shower was ace , breakfast was great , only small gripe I would have is the pub only stays open to 10pm 」
