I had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the room was lovely—comfortable, well-appointed, and truly inviting.
However, there were some service issues that affected my overall stay. The front desk staff was only moderately friendly, and my key didn’t work on the first attempt, which meant I had to drive back in the rain—a rather inconvenient start to my visit. Additionally, I had made a reservation for 10:30 at the winery’s restaurant, but upon arrival, I was told it was closed, even though I could see other guests dining there.
While the accommodation itself was delightful, these hiccups in service made the experience less enjoyable than I had hoped. I believe South Coast Winery has great potential, and with a bit more attention to service details, future guests might have a much smoother stay.
Also to note, I’ve stayed at a few other wineries overnight and would recommend other options like Churon.
