「Wonderful very old building with very helpful friendly staff. A building this old can’t be in perfect condition but they do their best. Very helpful with food when we were a little late arriving.」

「Really enjoyed my stay here as a solo business traveller over 3 nights. It is quirky and small but really cosy and warm, very clean and comfortable. Felt like a home away from home. Menu and food was good in the brasserie. The little extra touches; breakfast hamper and chocolates, ample fresh juice and milk in the fridge were really lovely and make they stay even nicer.」

「Close to Stansted airport. Bear in mind £4 per trip to and from airport. Breakfast included. So very good for value. In general it’s a but dated. McDonald’s and M&S food hall just a min walk away. For a brief stay to catch an early flight. Very good choice. 」

「Room was excellent. En-suite was fantastic. Very clean and good stay. It is a public house and music finishing at midnight all good for us on first night but music being slightly turned down and finishing between 3 and 4am not so considerate for guests.」

「A business trip and had a commercial meeting at ESSAX suite, everything was well! Service was nice, restaurant offers typical British breakfast. Only a problem, the air conditioner will be re-set to the low temperature randomly. 」

「Unusual and quirky room.Decorated really well.Above a pub but quiet. Only quibble, no one around when checking out as pub closed at 10 am.No instructions where to leave the keys.Had to leave them in the door lock.」
