「Our room had recently been refurbished and may also have been an upgrade (ask for room numbers 10-16). Facilities and decor were excellent, with a walk-in shower, comfortable bed and free parking. We didn’t have dinner in the hotel but the restaurant was very busy. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was of a good standard. Staff were friendly and professional so we would have no hesitation in recommending the Royal Hotel.」

「I enjoyed the stay. The room was quiet, the bathroom was new, check in was quick, the price was very good, bar was comfortable, drinks were not expensive. Didn't have breakfast. If you are looking for romantic stay then this is not the place but i think it was good and has character.」

「We stayed at Piersland for a couple of nights for Hogmanay (New Years). It was a lovely room - very comfortable and cosy despite it being stormy weather. We went for the gala dinner and it was great fun. Fantastic food and service. We stayed for 2 nights and really enjoyed it. Would recommend for families and couples.」

「Hotel was very clean and well maintained. Hotels.com guests do not get spa included in price though and are charged £40 on arrival. This should be clearer advertised when booking.」

「The staff were outstanding in terms of friendliness and being helpful. The lass on reception - Kathleen i think - remembered all our names from checking us in and greeted us every morning using our first names. Just brilliant!」
