We thought that the hotel could improve on the guest experience. The location was fine for us and the transportation provided by the hotel from Entebbe airport was good, as was the provision of taxis when needed. The attitude of staff was very friendly, but there seemed to be a need for more training. The quality and provision of Breakfast depended on whether there were many guests or few guests staying over. We went from having staff do toast or omelettes for us in the dining room, to one member of staff asking what we would like, then bringing what we had ordered to us. The decor in the Tiger Bar/ Breakfast restaurant needs a lot of brightening up. We dined in other nearby locations and felt that there was some over-pricing at the Ridar and the internet speed at another location was far superior. Following slow service when we had guests dining with us, I asked the Manager to intervene, which he did most courteously. I wrote on the bill that I would like to discuss the meal with the manager, but met with no response. We feel that potentially this could be a really good hotel with cohesive management. Many of the problems which guests experience in Uganda, like power cuts do not happen at the Ridar and the attention to cleanliness is very good. We enjoyed our stay, but if we come again, we would expect to find much brighter decor and staff who are confident in the training which they have received.
