The check in process was efficient however there is no bellhop service. If you don’t drive a car to the hotel/motel, plan on walking a long way to your room – dragging your luggage with you. A service was not even offered.
Once in my room, my initial impression was that it was clean but dated. The carpet was faded and several tiles in the bathroom were broken. Additionally, the plumbing and heating system were loud. Prior to arrival, I had requested extra pillows and they were there waiting for me. The room was spacious and had a nice patio that looked out over the bay.
That first night (Sunday, December 22nd) I ordered a sandwich from room service. On the phone, I was told that it should be there in 25-30 minutes. It took well over an hour.
The mattress was hard and extremely uncomfortable. When I inquired the next morning at the front desk about a mattress topper or something they could put on it, I was told that the mattresses are new and there was nothing they could do. They said I could take some extra comforters. Not that they would have housekeeping bring some and put them on the bed, no – that I could “take” some extra and handle it myself.
Also, the room where I was must have been at the exterior of the property because there was a public road and camping beach adjacent to the room. This proved to be problematic the next night.
