"This hotel is in a traditional Turkish noble families mansion. You enter through a massive walled gate and immaculately kept garden before reaching the hotel door. The decorations and furnishings throughout the lobby and rooms takes you back in time and relaxes your spirit. The staff is wonderful and ready to make you feel like a noble guest. They have the most wonderful restaurant. It’s a easy 500 meter walk to the magic world of old Safranbolu. Our mistake was to only have one night there."

"My visit to Karabük / Safrabolu was for business - my wife came along and did the 'sightseeing & shopping'. Both of really loved the 'feel' and hospitality of the Safir Konak - the way it brought the local community together (lots of people come to 'eat n meet' in the bar / restaurant) with a lovely place to stay for visitors. The rooms were lovely - we got the 'honeymoom suite' (Gein Odası) though we've been married for 30 years ;-) The staff were warm, polite and attentive - not the same as...
